ARTISTIC ENDEAVORS

I've never been one to box myself in artistically. As a child actor I was exposed at an early age to be adventurous and learn all I could about the craft of making theater and art. As an adult, I've learned so much about what it means to be a human being through the characters I've embodied and the plays I've directed. Theater is a learning ground.

I've had the pleasure of working with incredibly talented people over the past four decades. I've learned from the best. As a staff member at The Guthrie I watched and learned from some of the most talented artists in the country.

I am a certified Consent Forward Artist through Intimacy Directors and Coordinators and I hold that training at the heart of everything I do. As  a Director I hold a consent forward space~ What that means is everyone has a voice. Everyone matters, from the actor to the stage hand to the usher. My job is to get everyone to a place of "yes." Emotional and physical safety are at the core of my work.

DESIGN GALLERY

Over the years, in addition to becoming an accomplished actor, my skill set has allowed me the opportunity to practice my craft in multiple areas of production, including stage management, costume and lighting design, choreography and direction. Most notably, I had the privilege of working on staff at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis from 2007 to 2014 as assistant Wig Master, and held the position of Wig Master from 2014 to 2019.

ADVOCACY AND AUTHORSHIP

Because of my experience as a survivor of abuse as a child, I have found myself solidly embedded in the world of advocacy. My memoir is now available and my second book will be out soon. Because safety in the arts is near and dear to my heart, I have my Consent Forward Artist Certification from Intimacy Director and Coordinators.
